Getting Started with the SC-1
When a new SC-1 comes out of the box it works only as compass and a speedometer. Click here to see the only instructions you need to read before hitting the water.
If you would like to enable the advanced modes (e.g. VMG, Distance to line, Timer, etc...) on your SC-1, update your SC-1's firmware using Velocitek Control Center. To do this you first need to install Velocitek Control Center on your computer. The following tutorial video shows how to do this:
If your computer is running Windows XP, you will need to go through a driver installation process the first time you connect your SC-1 to your computer. The video below shows you how to do this:
Once you've followed the steps in Velocitek Control Center Installation Video above and your SC-1 is communicating with your computer, select Setup>Update Device Firmware in Velocitek Control Center and choose the latest "Full" version of firmware.
Once you have completed the firmware update select Setup>Update Device Settings to choose which advanced modes you want to enable (they are all enabled by default).

You can download GPS data from your SC-1 and create race replays using Velocitek SpeedPlay.
Getting Started with the SpeedPuck
Press the big blue button once to turn the SpeedPuck on. Once the SpeedPuck is on, pressing the button will toggle the device between heading, speed and max speed modes. To turn the SpeedPuck off, hold down the button for three seconds.
The bar graph indicator around the perimeter of the SpeedPuck's display will automatically locks on to your tack angle if you sail in a straight line for 30 seconds or more. The bar graph shows deviations from your tack angle in 3 degree increments and will automatically reset when you tack or jibe.

SpeedPlay Installation
First download and install Velocitek SpeedPlay using the instructions in the above video.
Windows XP Driver Installation
If your computer is running Windows XP, you will need to go through a driver installation process the first time you connect your SC-1 to your computer. The video above shows you how to do this.
Entering License Key
Once SpeedPlay is installed and running on your computer enter you license key using this instructions in the above video.
